Blue Ribbon

What would you do for $10,000?

If you ask 80-year-old Woody Lancaster, you might be surprised at the answer.

This Topsfield (MA) resident has taken home the 2026 blue ribbon at his hometown fair for growing the state's largest pumpkin. Lancaster estimates his prize squash gained 60 pounds per day during its maturation process. The result? His final specimen tipped the scales at 2,598 pounds. Just for context, that's the same heft as the average compact car.

For just $20, you can see this record-breaking gourd, gasp at the daring feats of the Flying Wallendas, hear the crunch of the demolition derby, and cheer on contestants wolfing down unimaginable amounts of hot dogs.

As for Woody, his work is done.
