The Coven
A new month has arrived, and with it, a new piece of advice.
Never, EVER, go to Salem in October.
It sounds counterintuitive, doesn't it. Awash in pumpkins and haunted houses, costume contests and clairvoyants, October seems like the perfect time to visit a town known for its ghoulish past. Sadly, the very popularity that has made this hamlet so alluring has also ruined it for both residents and neighbors alike.
Too much of a good thing is still too much.
That said, this might be the year to throw caution to the wind and join the traffic jam on Route 114. The "Witch City" needs us.
On October 17th, Salem will mark its 400th anniversary. In honor of this auspicious occasion, a drone will hover over Salem's Maritime National Historical Park in hopes of capturing footage of the largest witch-hat-wearing crowd ever assembled. The organizers are expecting hundreds, but are hopeful thousands will appear for their haunted Hollywood moment.
Here's to a win for the black hats!
